Vestforbrænding is an environmental company creating solutions in the waste management field. They are working to minimise wastage and pollution, and they are treating waste as a resource.

When Vestforbrænding started operation in 1970 this was a major benefit for the environment since large volumes of waste were now incinerated and no longer led to landfill. Since that time Vestforbrænding set many environmental milestones.

Vestforbrænding handles around 900.000 tonnes of waste a year of which 33% is recycled, 62% goes to energy recovery through incineration and 5 % goes to special treatment (including landfill).

Vestforbrænding is dealing in all spheres of waste manage-ment like Recycling, Collection of waste, Administration of waste schemes, consultancy services as well as research and development in the waste management field.

In addition to solving waste management assignments Vestforbrænding is operating six recycling centres and the largest incineration plant of Denmark, generating both power and district heat. 300 employees service a total of around 865,000 people – this is one sixth of Denmark’s population.

In addition, they service around 60,000 businesses. Vestforbrænding is working in many fields to minimise wa-ste arisings and develop solutions causing the least possible environmental impacts.

When it is not expedient from an environmental and socio-economic point of view to recycle waste it is incinerated, provided that residues from the incineration process do not cause environmental problems.

Energy from waste incineration is used for CO2-neutral ge-neration of power and heat, which is sold and distributed. Vestforbrænding decided to use eyevis technology for the surveillance of their processes. The environmentally friendly orientation of Vestforbrænding is reflected in the choice of their rear-projection cubes. They operate a 8 degrees curved wall with 12x 50“ EC-50-LSXT+ with a 6×2 array. The cubes have a resolution of 1400×1050 pixels and due to their LED light source they have a much longer lifetime compared to lamp based cubes. The longer lifetime is connected to less wear parts making the LED cubes a more environmentally friendly solution.
